Health care panels

One of the common objections to socialized health care is that it means the government is deciding what treatment options will be covered, which could lead to “death panels” condemning poor unfortunates to die from lack of coverage for their necessary treatment.

As exhibit A in rejection of this concern (and in reinforcing the exact opposite concern, spiraling costs), I present this quote from a website supporting homeopathy: “homeopathic remedies prescribed by MDs are (partially) reimbursed by the State Medical system (called Securite Sociale)” (in France).

With a government-selected board choosing health-care options, even homeopathy is partially recompensed.
