Mapping Europe

I found this ongoing series on how the world views Eurasia’s stubby offshoot to be quite awesome, even if certain labels get overused (see Finland, for example).  Relatedly, Strange Maps has moved since we last linked to them (and become slightly more legitimate than being just another WordPress blog).  Even if you don’t like maps, the lengthy fun-fact-filled discursions that accompany each image are worth the visit.



  1. Good find. I like the Bulgarian one – “Spaghettia” and “Yup, Bjork” has me LOLing.

  2. I wonder if George can comment on its accuracy. I think the Italian one got the most guffaws out of me (you might have heard them shortly before the post went up).
