The Efficacy of Trying One’s Enemies

Michael Waltzer of IAS at Princeton has an interesting run-down of political trials throughout history, whose experiences inform both our attempts to try terror subjects for their crimes (rather than simply executing or quarantining them) and the clamor for trials for the political leaders of the Bush Administration for war crimes.
