The Coming British Electoral Upheaval: An Intermission

The Liberal Democrats performed far below expectations, but still managed to hang Parliament sufficiently that either major party needs their support if they hope to form a majority government.  Labour is openly considering a referrendum on PR but the Tories are resisting any talk of electoral reform.

The Monkey Cage excerpts an interesting paper that noted the correlation between the LibDem vote and the polarization of the two British Parties and effectively predicted the collapse of the LibDem vote for the Tories on polling day, despite all signs pointing to the contrary.
