In Other GDC News

Civ 5 has a bunch of new infos up.  The biggest change, other than the obvious geometric one: no more stacks of armies.  Only one unit can occupy a space at a time, which, in addition to the reduction in possible movements available, will make things quite interesting.  I really cannot fathom how this thing will play out.  Also, range units can now shoot over multiple squares, so yay for turtling.  Finally, out of the Peter Molyneux school of game design, you must apparently interpret a opponents disposition to you based on body language, rather than smiley face icons.  Seeing that the average Civ player is not exactly a people person, I suspect the language barrier will be too great for most.  It was for Joystiq.
